Wearable Neurostimulation Innovative Research Grant Program

Research Objectives

Spark Biomedical, a leader in wearable neurostimulation solutions, is requesting proposals for innovative clinical research using wearable neurostimulation. Non-invasive neurostimulation devices are rising in use as a primary or adjunct treatments for a range of diseases. Further research is required to deepen the level of clinical evidence and increase clinical adoption of wearable neurostimulation technologies.

Research that is appropriate for this grant program includes (but is not limited to):

  • Imaging studies to delineate the mechanism of action of wearable neurostimulation
  • Studies to rigorously evaluate initial efficacy of novel wearable neurostimulation interventions
  • Studies to refine wearable neurostimulation intervention strategy. These studies could determine appropriate dosing and parameter selection.
  • Studies to define and refine target populations.
Eligibility

Eligible organizations include:

  • Higher Education Institutions
    - Public/State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education
    - Private Institutions of Higher Education
  • Nonprofits Other Than Institutions of Higher Education
  • For-Profit Organizations
  • Small Businesses
  • For-Profit Organizations (Other than Small Businesses)

Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are NOT eligible to apply.

Funding

A maximum of $75,000 will be awarded to a single recipient. Funding provided by this research grant will support a research project for up to 12 months. Investigators must submit progress reports every three months to track progress. At the conclusion of the project performance period, a final technical report will be submitted detailing the project findings.

  1. Overview of Research Plan (2 page max)
  2. Budget
  3. Key Personnel
  4. Facilities description

The Deadline for Submission is July 31, 2024 at 5pm CT.
